Sunset Bay

This piece was conceived as idealistic amalgamation of all the beaches I had the joy of experiencing in Cornwall at sunset. Sunset Bay is my attempt to capture the feelings of the perfect moment in a sunset and is the very life experience that taught me to be ‘in the moment’, to be aware of the 30 seconds of perfection and to be present in awe and gratitude. The first time I actualised being in the moment was on a blissful late Sunday afternoon in August 1985 - the moment my comprehension of art took a big step forward. It is exciting to me that this ‘awareness’ has now become part of what we refer to as well-being. The very reason why great art is good for our well being. It reminds us to pause, to appreciate, like being at Sunset Bay.

Sunset Bay is an original digital artwork produced by J. Vincent Nash. The artwork has been printed onto archival quality canvas which has subsequently been mounted onto a wooden panel. The art panel has been applied with a brush stroked gel layer to give the surface an authentic ‘painterly’ look and to offer the print surface additional protection from the environment. The reverse of the art panel is where the WPG backroom security is located. Finally the completed panel is mounted in a gallery frame.
