FAQs

  • You get the unique ‘digital original’ artwork that you ordered, complete with all security measures all framed and ready to hang on your wall. You receive a digital copy of the artwork on a pen drive should you ever need it.

Most importantly, you receive ownership of all commercial and reproduction rights in the work, enabling you to make an income on your investment, or even pay for it and make a profit while you still own it, should you so wish. Normally, when you purchase a work of art, the copyright remains with the artist. When you purchase a WPG work, you are automatically ceded the rights.

  • A digital original is what we call our physical framed artworks. It means that the artwork was created digitally in a computer but the one framed picture you ordered is the ONLY one that is recognised to be the original. The security features of our framed digital originals ensure that there is no possibility of someone else making a reproduction. So if you have the artwork that no one can copy then is is the original. It means that the digital art you bought and received framed is as valid as a hand painted original.

  • We are in the process of setting up the facility to sell fine art prints of the artworks. Sign up to our alerts at the bottom of the page to be among the first to hear when the sale of prints begins.

  • No we don’t at present. Owing to the prohibitive cost of a bricks and mortar gallery and because our clients are all over the world, we have chosen for now to concentrate online. We do intend to have exhibitions in physical galleries of course so if you want to be kept informed about those then please sign up to our newsletter.

  • Like all artwork, there may be copies out there but you have the only original that is absolutely guaranteed by the Back Room and other security measures. As long as the artwork is not destroyed then it will remain as the original certified by us.

  • Although we cannot duplicate the security measures, we do have the original digital file in secure storage. This means that a duplicate of the original artwork can be issued to you under certain conditions. The replacement will have new security features because we can’t duplicate all the security and so it becomes a new original. When a replacement artwork is issued, the old original and its unique security features are listed as destroyed. From that moment, anybody checking the genuineness of the old original will discover that it is worthless and no longer officially recognised.

  • No. In traditional art sales, you buy a work of art, but the artist retains the copyright. When you purchase an artwork from our gallery, you become the new owner of the copyright, allowing you to retain or sell in any way you wish. Under Artists Resale Rights in the UK and EEA, every time a gallery or “art market professional” re-sells a work of art, the artist has to be paid a royalty. When you buy a Wall Power work of art, you become the new owner of the copyright and there are no resale royalties due to the artist going further.

General

  • As an introductory offer, all shipping of original art to the UK will be free of charge. This will likely change in the near future.

  • Due to the size, weight and destination, international shipping will be calculated and charged after the initial purchase of the piece. Buyers can arrange to have the artwork collected in-person or can arrange a courier to collect the piece from us.

  • All of the materials that we use are of professional archival/museum quality. All acrylics are guaranteed for seventy years (the length of time acrylics have been tested since their invention). We further test the pH of all materials that we use to make sure they are as benign as possible. Should the artwork fade or become diminished in the future for some reason we hold a digital file and records of the security so we may be able to issue a replacement to be recognised as the new digital original artwork.

  • With original work, the image is first printed onto high grade archival canvas using museum quality inks. The canvas is then stretched and bonded onto a panel neutral pH plywood using acid free adhesive, giving the image a strong, permanent, stable understructure.

The front of the artwork is signed by me before two coats of an expensive textured acrylic gel is applied to give a bright, clean, fully protected artwork with maximum aesthetic appeal. Certain security measures are incorporated during this finishing process.

Lastly the finished panel goes to framing to be mounted in a gallery frame ready to be shipped to its new owner.

  • The work then goes to the gallery’s security where the “Back Room” is added. This is a range of security measures bonded to the back of the artwork panel to prevent forgery or unauthorised copies being sold as originals. These measures far exceed international and insurance industry requirements for protecting artwork and are so secure that we ourselves cannot replicate them even if we wanted to. They include a unique artwork number, an Artshield bead, a Barry Bird feather array and at least a dozen other objects, processes and features, bearing in mind the increasing power of computers to crack codes, copy originals and generally fool the human eye. There is even a stainless steel disk inserted in case the original is destroyed by fire, allowing a re-issue of the artwork under certain circumstances.

All of the security measures are then photographed or micro-photographed, other features and measures noted and all of this data is stored in our security system offline to prevent tampering. Much of it will never be disclosed and used only for settling disputes or enquiries about authenticity.

Our security data makes it possible to give an opinion to owners anywhere in the world as to authenticity and will provide us with the maximum forensic evidence should it be required by competent authorities.

We are confident that to forge all of the security measures, even if it was possible, it would cost far in excess of the value of the artwork, thus guaranteeing the originality, uniqueness and, of course, the investment value of the work.

The Artworks

  • Of course. Wall Power is looking to represent good artists that share the goals of the gallery. We are looking for talented artists with a good artistic heritage. It goes without saying that we look for wall power in your art too. If you are a great artist and you agree with the WPG model of selling the use the contact us page to get in touch - who knows, it may be the most important email you send this year.

  • Firstly we need to see great art with good wall power. Next we need to see evidence of a strong artistic heritage. We don’t mind if you use AI tools as part of your creation process but being an artist first is paramount. Lastly we need to see your process, how you actually create your imagery. If we like what we see we can discuss the deets and get something exciting going. Good luck!
